The 144th Dublin Horse Show opened today runs through August 13th at the Royal Dublin Society in Ballsbridge, Dublin, Ireland. This year’s event includes more than 1500 horses & ponies, 132 events and 8 world-ranking international show jumping competitions.

The first Dublin Horse Show was held in 1864 on the lawns of Leinster House. 366 horses completed in lead line classes with a few “demonstrations featuring leaping”.

The show is Ireland’s largest summer event attracting tens of thousands eager to celebrate Ireland’s love of horses. In addition to the equestrian program, the show offers visitors more than 300 stands offering equine products, crafts and food. There are many activities for children and equestrian demonstrations scheduled between competitions.

Wishing everyone glorious weather and a joyful week in celebration of the horse.

ádh mór ort!
