During a visit yesterday to Iquique, Chile, Pope Francis ordered his popemobile to stop after a mounted Chilean policewoman, Ana Belen Aguilera Casas, was thrown off her horse. The horse spooked, frightened by the crowd’s screams as the popemobile passed. Francis stood by the fallen officer, speaking with her, until an ambulance arrived. She was taken to a local hospital and later reported in stable condition.

Earlier in the day, the Pope, officiated over the impromptu marriage of an airline steward and stewardess. Good deeds all.
